1A Bronx Tale Cigars: From Belmont Avenue to the Humidor
Few films capture the spirit of neighborhood loyalty and mentorship quite like A Bronx Tale. Written by and starring Chazz Palminteri, the story began as a one-man stage play before becoming the beloved 1993 film directed by Robert De Niro. Set in the Bronx during the 1960s, the film tells the story of a young boy caught between the values of his hardworking father and the charismatic influence of a neighborhood boss named Sonny.
More than thirty years after the film first captivated audiences, its legacy has found a new expression in the premium cigar world.
A Bronx Tale Cigars represents a collaboration between film, storytelling, and cigar craftsmanship—bringing the characters and spirit of the movie into humidors across the country. Produced in the Dominican Republic by Epic Cigars and distributed nationally through Zander-Greg, the brand has evolved from a single limited release into a growing portfolio inspired by the film’s most memorable characters.
The Collaboration Behind the Brand
The creation of A Bronx Tale Cigars began through a partnership that brought together several figures within the cigar industry.
Epic Cigars, founded by Dean Parsons in 2009, provided the production infrastructure and brand development necessary to bring the concept to life. Epic Cigars had already established itself as a respected premium cigar brand known for its attention to blending and boutique-style presentation.
The connection to the film and Chazz Palminteri came through Paul DiSilvio, a Bronx native and cigar entrepreneur behind La Casa Grande Cigars and Pauly Cigars. Through his relationship with Chazz Palminteri, DiSilvio recognized an opportunity to translate the cultural legacy of A Bronx Tale into a premium cigar brand rooted in the characters and story that made the film iconic.
By bringing Palminteri together with Epic Cigars and national distributor Zander-Greg, the project united storytelling, production expertise, and distribution—creating the foundation for what would become A Bronx Tale Cigars.

The Original Limited Edition: The Calogero
The first release under the A Bronx Tale name arrived as a limited edition box-pressed Toro, quickly gaining attention among cigar retailers and enthusiasts.
The cigar became widely known as the “Calogero,” a name that carries several layers of meaning. Calogero is the name of the young protagonist in the film, but it is also Chazz Palminteri’s birth name, given to him in honor of his grandfather.
The original Calogero Limited Edition was crafted as a box-pressed Toro featuring:
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Binder: Dominican
Filler: Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos
Produced in the Dominican Republic, the cigar delivered a balanced profile combining Dominican smoothness and complexity.
Establishing the Brand: The Calogero Core Line
Following the success of the original limited release, the brand expanded with the introduction of the Calogero Core Line.
The Calogero line entered continuous production in four parejo vitolas:
Robusto, Toro, Torpedo, Gordo

Sonny Enters the Story
The next chapter arrived with the Sonny Limited Edition, again presented as a box-pressed Toro and released in 1,000 individually numbered boxes.
The Sonny Limited Edition features:
Wrapper: Mexican San Andrés Maduro
Binder: Dominican
Filler: Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos
Like the Calogero release, the Sonny cigar is produced in the Dominican Republic and represents another character from the film translated into a premium cigar experience.

DEDICATED TO MY FRIEND, SONNY
Sonny from a “A Bronx Tale” was an Italian-American mobster and the boss of the neighborhood where the story takes place. A charismatic and influential figure who commanded respect and fear from those around him, Sonny was Dark, Rich, Powerful and Bold, just like his new cigar. With strong and flavorful tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, a dark San Andres maduro wrapper and bold blend of long fillers bring to life ‘The Sonny’, one of the great ones. Smoke it once, and like Sonny said, “Now yous can’t leave.”
PCA 2026: The Sonny Core Line
Following the limited release, the Sonny Core Line is scheduled to debut at PCA 2026. Mirroring the Calogero structure, the Sonny line will enter regular production in four parejo vitolas:
Robusto, Toro, Torpedo, Gordo
A Story That Continues
From its beginnings as a stage performance to its place in cinematic history, A Bronx Tale has always been a story about character. The cigar brand inspired by it carries that same philosophy forward—pairing storytelling with craftsmanship and collaboration within the premium cigar industry.
